The NDSU Extension Service, Emmons County exists to serve the people of Emmons County. The work of the extension service is extremely important to producers, families, community leaders and young people.

Often programs must address an urgent situation that has occurred such as excessive rain, hail, tornadoes, floods, serious financial problems, child abductions and food borne illnesses. Our mission is to create learning partnerships that help adults and youth enhance their lives and communities.

The county contest was held on June 17, 2009 at the courthouse in Linton. Casondra Rutschke entered 3 exhibits:

STATE FAIR RESULTS

 

Emmons County 4-Hers Take Part in 2009 ND State Fair

 

Casondra Rutschke, Zeeland, received champion in Money Management with her CD Comparison project and reserve champion in Exploring Treasures of 4-H with her ‘How to Prevent Household Hazards’ project. She also participated in Preteen 4-H Project Expo with her project “Shoe Light”.

 

4-H Consumer Choices Team McKenzy Schmidt, Linton, Mallory Nygard and Katie Wold are the Emmons-Williams-McKenzie County 4-H Consumer Choices team. They judged the state contest at the ND State Fair in Minot.

 

Laura Naaden, Braddock, received an award of excellence in Extras for Your Room with her Wall Hanging and an award of excellence with her Quilt.

 

Sarah Naaden, Braddock, received an award of excellence in Photography and award of excellence with her Quilt.

 

Laura Huber, Strasburg, received an award of excellence in Woodworking with her Wooden Lamp.

 

Alyssa Noel, Linton, received champion in Drawing and Painting with her Marilyn Monroe drawing and reserve champion in Drawing and Painting with her Rooster.

 

Patrick Schumacher, Linton, received reserve champion in Simmental Influence.

 

Stephanie Volk, Linton, received award of excellence in Drawing and Painting with her Cowboy Boots.

 

Emmons County 4-Hers entered 143 static exhibits at ND State Fair in Minot.
